The Sallet

The Sallet was a smooth, rounded helmet worn by soldiers in the 15th century, especially during the late Middle Ages. It was made of steel and gave great protection while still being comfy to wear.

Sallets usually had a long back part to guard the neck and sometimes a visor in the front to protect the face. Some versions had open faces, so archers and foot soldiers could see better.

This helmet became really popular in Europe, especially in places like Germany and Italy. It worked well with other armor and was great for both knights and regular soldiers.

With its sleek shape and clever design, the Sallet showed how armor was getting more advanced. Today, it's remembered as one of the coolest helmets from medieval times.
